Beyond the Classroom
At 海角社区, we pride ourselves on providing students with enriching experiences both within and beyond the classroom. We understand that learning extends beyond textbooks, so we use trips and excursions as alternative methods for children to explore and learn about nature, other cultures, and essential lifeskills. These hands-on experiences offer students the opportunity to engage with the world around them in meaningful ways, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse environments and perspectives.
Cameron Highlands
Our students have the unique opportunity to experience living in nature at our highland location. During these trips, students participate in nature talks and walks, immersing themselves in the natural environment. They work together with accompanying teachers to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, fostering teamwork and culinary skills.
These activities help students build a sense of unity and boost their confidence, as they learn to collaborate and thrive in a communal setting.
Taiwan Adventures
We offer older students the chance to put their Mandarin skills to the test outside the classroom by traveling to Taiwan. Accompanied by their Mandarin teacher, Ms. Yeoh, students will experience a rich travel adventure, visiting cultural sites, participating in local sports, and attending educational talks. This trip aims to immerse students in an environment where they can practice their Mandarin while learning about Taiwanese culture and its people.
Through this unique experience, students will gain a deeper understanding of a culture different from their own, enhancing both their language proficiency and cultural awareness.
Raptor Watch
What better way to learn about the migration of raptors than to witness it firsthand? Mr. Yannik organizes a yearly raptor watch adventure for students at Tanjung Tuan. Here, students learn about migration patterns, reasons for migration, and types of migrant raptors, all while observing the breathtaking migration of these magnificent birds. This hands-on experience teaches students the importance of protecting nature and provides them with exceptional learning opportunities, fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife and environmental conservation.
